National Account Manager

 

Our client, a global leading logistics company is looking for an experienced National Account Manager to help grow and maintain their customers in Southern Ireland.

 

Job Purpose Statement:

To achieve/exceed revenue goals by providing a highly experienced level of expertise in selling services as well as developing and executing sales strategies to defined account customers with the objective to achieve/exceed sales goals, new business revenue goals, maximum profitability and ensure customer experience.

 

Key Activities/Accountabilities

 

  • Sales tactical planning: Implements and executes all Sales directives and provides regular updates and feedback on tactical execution through appropriate channels in order to achieve/exceed short-term goals and overall Sales targets;
  • Closing new business: Meets/exceeds targets for new business through “progressive” sales visits with key customer contacts. Leads consultations by positioning the most appropriate solution to meet the needs of both customer & businesses. Includes identification/action on opportunities to cross sell services across EMEA and/or globally. Manages the negotiation process to secure the best terms for the organization (required profit & yield margins). Closes the business;
  • Customer and team alignments: Develops and maintains effective professional relationships that facilitate co-operation and trust. Includes alignment with Customer contacts, sales and key support groups. Shares knowledge with relevant individuals/teams;
  • Managing account compliance: Monitors the way customers trade to ensure plans are achieved in line with business expectations by implementing accurate and realistic pricing proposals that incorporate all costs and charges to be billed to the customer and required profit and yield margins. Secures financial approvals. Works with the customer to develop an accurate business plan;
  • Project & process management: Leads the design & development of new/adapted processes and/or tailored solutions that may involve new technology. Leads the project to implement solutions through cross-functional alignments and/or customer alignments to ensure results are delivered within given timeframe. Includes effective and seamless handover to the relevant Sales Teams;
  • Developing large customers: Achieves/exceeds planned revenue. Creates and manages opportunities to work with the Customer to evaluate opportunities to use company technologies and products to achieve business efficiencies. Involves relevant company functions to evaluate the operational, technical and financial viability to ensure more value & customer loyalty;
  • Contract Management: Co-ordinates the development and issues of Customer contracts within required timelines and parameters. Includes agreement of terms, collating accurate information, developing draft contracts, progressing through the approval process and gaining appropriate sign-off;
  • Administration & reporting: Supports divisional performance tracking and strategic planning by completing accurate and on time standardized and ad-hoc reports of Sales KPI’s (sales activities, risks, commitments etc.). Develops and/or provides reports that meet agreed customer requirements. Supports miscellaneous admin tasks;

 

Requirements:

 

  • Language Skills: English fluent both written and verbally;
  • Strong influencing and persuasion skills;
  • Excellent negotiation skills on directors/executive level;
  • Excellent presentation skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Fields sales experience with Transportation/logistics required;
  • Knowledge of macro business environment;
  • Knowledge of supply chain solutions;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Strong planning and organizing skills.
