Indoor Sales Supervisor

 Our client, a global logistics company is looking for an experienced Indoor Sales Supervisor.

The purpose of this role is to support Sales Management in achieving/exceeding Sales goals by performing a range of Professional level duties including co-ordinating defined people related processes/areas, analysing sales related issues/results, initiating and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Activities/Accountabilities

 Sales & Business Knowledge 

  • Maintains an in-depth working knowledge of the current and evolving business needs (complex territories, sales approach, sales systems and reporting, processes and tools, products, services etc.) and of the external environment (Customers, his/her needs and business environment, industries, competition etc.)
  • Leads structured knowledge sharing within the team and across relevant workgroups.

 Planning and Organisation

  • Supports the Manager in planning (work schedules, equipment renewal/repair, allocation of duties etc.) and contributes to the goal setting process or redefinition of territories.
  • Performs administration, analysis and reporting for any departmental of key result areas.
  • Co-ordinates day to day activities within the team including allocation of resources to ensure that targets are maintained. Advises the Manager on any factors that will impact goal achievement

Performance Expectations

  • Supports the Manager in achieving optimum individual and team revenue generation and performance through effective and consistent application of approved processes, methods and practices (sales processes, best practice methods, contingency arrangements etc.) Includes clearly communicating specific local requirements and providing accurate information to individuals and teams regarding performance expectations and targets.

Employee Coaching & Implementation 

  • Manages, coaches and reviews employees to ensure KPI’s and personal objectives are achieved
  • Through training and coaching, ensures that indoor sales employees are equipped with the right skills, knowledge, competencies and empowerment to satisfy customers and achieve business results
  • Performs defined employee audits to observe performance and compliance with agreed standards. Documents the results and provides the employee with specific feedback and coaching as needed to achieve/exceed required standards/compliance
  • Provides structured feedback to the Manager and obtains approvals for the content of all audit documentation and action plans
  • Promotes the corporate values through active participation in the corporate initiatives
  • Complies with all company related policies, procedures and legal requirements (HR, H&S, Security, etc.).

 Corporate Responsibility & Health & Safety

  • Comply with the company’s corporate responsibility, health, safety and environmental standards and responsibilities as identified within the company’s management systems and directly support line management in effectively implementing these management systems

Profitability and Cost Controls

  • Uses agreed methods and tools to effectively evaluate defined profitability factors (pricing, productivity, service match etc.) and the usage of defined resources (equipment, supplies, use of manpower etc.) Provides accurate and timely feedback to the Manager regarding mis-use of resources or potential cost saving opportunities

 Customer Experience

  • Maintains/grows accounts within a defined territory in accordance with local requirements.
  • Makes appropriate Customer contact to validate satisfaction level and identify and close additional eligible and profitable revenue opportunities
  • At anytime and anywhere perform the activities and display the behaviours that are designed to deliver a distinctive Customer Experience
  • Through coaching and monitoring encourage and improve employee adherence to these activities and behaviours

Team Alignments and Relationships

  • Develops and uses an effective network of relevant contacts within the organisation (Peers, Field Sales, Ops, CFS, Marketing etc.) and externally within the Customers’ businesses who can facilitate the achievement of results.

 Process Management & Implementation

  • Supports correct implementation of new and existing divisional policies and processes
  • Ensures continuous improvement in customer experiences through supporting the deployment of best practice processes

Person Specification

  • Previous indoor sales customer service experience;
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets (personal &/or team;
  • Knowledge of Key/Major Account management/support functions
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role;
  • Knowledge of Key/Major Account management/support functions
  • Ability to interpret standard business reports and employ information effectively both internally and externally;
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external customers clearly and effectively;
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, Word and Excel;
  • Experience in coaching and training teams to improve performance;
  • Experience in people management;
  • Minimum of Leaving Cert (or equivalent) standard of education;
  • Strong customer services background.
